| | What a great weekend. The original plan was to go see a movie on Friday night, but after being stuck in the office all day, my husband -- the smart guy that he is -- suggested a drive, dinner in Cochrane, a bit more of a drive, and some photo taking. Great idea!! Here are a couple of the shots we took at Ghost Lake. (These are quite funny to me because there were a TON of boats and jet skis and just people everywhere out there -- and we just went ahead and took pictures...while the onlookers thought we were nuts, I'm sure -- especially since we seemed to be the only ones NOT in life jackets and bathing suits!)
Ha! This one makes me laugh. We took SO many pictures of the 2 of us...trying to get one decent one. But we kept screwing up whether we were going to smile or be serious...and whether we were going to have our sunglasses on or off. I chose this one because it's one of the very few when we were actually in sync!
This one makes me laugh, too. I like taking pictures...a lot. But Nick is definitely the technical expert out of the 2 of us. I like to point and shoot. And most of the time the camera is set to fully automatic when it's in my hands. When I took this shot, I had it in auto. And I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it to focus. The focus kept changing. And changing. And changing. And so (of course, desperately trying to figure this out without the help of my all-knowing husband) I took it off auto and tried to manually focus. Well, the sun was so bright I couldn't tell if I was in focus or not. Finally I 'fessed up and admitted my frustration. To which my husband said..."Try this". And he simply put his hand in front of the sun. Instantly his face was in focus and the camera was ready to roll. At which point I took this photo. A face that says "I'm not going to say anything, but man, she couldn't figure that out?". Good thing he's got patience! |
